Greeting, everyone Spring is here and it's time for the dragons and I to meet readers and future authors and some of our favorite events. First we'll be in Denton and the N. Texas Book Fair, the community center from 9 until 4, Sat the 16th. Come on and visit with us and for those of you who haven't seen book four of the Candlewood series, The Legend of the Dragon Sword, check it out! We'll be in Weatherford on April 30th at Books n authors and all that Jazz, Sat from 9 until 3. There all all kinds of books and workshops for future writers and it's all FREE! Hope you'll join us. Candlewood update

Hello, everyone

Well after a brief respite in 2010 and one grandson later, we're back!
Candlewood will be at Scarborough Fair in Waxahachie, more info later, at the North Texas Book Festival in Denton on April 16 from 8am until 4 pm and at Books n authors and all that Jazz in Weatherford on April 30 fro 9am until 3pm.

Also we'll be at the Azle Middle School on March 11th from 8:30 until 11 am or so.
Love to talk to my young readers!

More information to come, I promise.

Oh! Book four, The Crown of Candlewood is nearly two thirds done. I think. It keeps growing and growing!

Scarborough Faire

I hope you had a chance to get out to Scarborough Faire last weekend but if not, then come on and attend Memorial Weekend. You really will have the "time of your life!"

The Legend of the Dragon Sword

Hello, everyone!

Candlewood, The Legend of the Dragon Sword is doing very well. Most of my personal sales are for the entire trilogy, which surprises and delights me.

Book four, The Crown of Candlewood, is about half written. The story took an unexpected turn I think Candlewood readers will enjoy so stay posted right here!

The Dragons of Candlewood will soon be offered on "kindle" and books two and three will soon follow.

We'll be on the radio in Feb and at The Bookcase in Weatherford probably that same day. (I'll verify the dates and post.)

Books and Authors and All that Jazz is our favorite event and we'll be there, rain or shine. Haven't received the dates for that event yet but I will let you know.

After the book show

Well, were had a blast at the North Texas Book and Paper show!
We (fellow author and Mom, Barbara Newton) met many new friends and even shared cookies with customers and authors alike.
If you missed it, plan on coming next year.
Next Candlewood goes to Plantersville to the Renasciance Festival. For the first time, my books are going without me! Meet Shelly Lee, your bookseller and guess what? She WILL have book three, Candlewood: The Legend of the Dragon Sword. She may see the first book before me!
Meanwhile stay in touch here and I'll be sure you know when book three is officially released. It's been a long road but we're almost there.

Sorry I haven't been keeping up. Candlewood has been in "waiting"mode for book three, The Legend of the Dragon Sword" due to unavoidable circumstances.
We'll be at a new book fair in September, more info later, and at the Plantersville Ren Faire on Halloween day and evening! Should be a blast.
More book signings to follow but we're waiting for the release of book three so we can show off our "trilogy!"

We had a wonderful time at Scarborough Faire at the Book Faire store!
Joe is a funny, wacky host. If you attend, stop by and say "hello" for me. Oh! And buy a book or two. Joe and Carrie have back issues of Renasciance Magazine, too, and for much less than anywhere else.

Scarborough Faire and other good times

Hi, all

Candlewood will be in it's element as we travel back in time to Scarborough Renaissance Faire, April 4th and 5th in Waxahachie, Texas. Come, Lords and Ladies and speak with us, won't you?
Rumor is book three MAY be there for it's debut!
If not, The Dragons of Candlewood and The Haunting of Candlewood shall be.

Next we're at the North Texas book Festival in Denton, Texas at the Community Center, Saturday, April 18 from 8 am until 4 pm. Don't miss it!

Then our very favorite event of the year, Books n Authors and All That Jazz in Weatherford, Texas, Sat, April 25th from 9 am until 3pm. There really is something for everyone and it's FREE! You'll find the fun in the fine arts building on the Weatherford College campus. There's a big sign, so you can't miss it.

Come on and meet my fellow mystery author (and Mom) Barbara Newton when her new book, Death for the Holidays premiers! Dectective Brandle finds himself with a case even more startling than the "Sammie" murders.

A new year a new Candlewood book!

Hello, everyone!

Well, we have the month of April marked as the release month for book three, Candlewood: The Legend of the Dragon Sword. So stay tuned for the official release date!
We'll be at "Books n Authors, and all the Jazz" the last of April with all three books, so make plans to come and join us for books, music and writing classes for all ages.

We'll be at Liberty Elementary School this Friday, January 31 from 1 until 2:15 in the afternoon speaking with third and fourth graders. These are some of my favorite fans and we all have a great time. Come on down but remember to sign in at the office, please.

A New Year

Hello, everyone

I hope each and every one of you had a Merry Christmas and will go on to have a Happy New Year!
With God's guidance, this will be a great one for us all.

Good news in Candlewood! Book three, Candlewood; The Legend of the Dragon Sword, will be released in May of this year. Book four, The Crown of Candlewood continues on and I hope to be finished with it by May or June.

We'll be at Career Day, Liberty School in Azle on Jan. 30th from 12:45 to 2:30 and I hope to see some of my favorite fans there.

Last signing of the year

Hi, everyone

Fall is here and the leaves are swirling. The sky is a dark, lovely blue and the nights are crisp.
Not only King Terrance's favorite time of year!

Barbara Newton, fellow author and Mom of mine will join me for our last signing of the year at the Barnes and Noble store at 401 Commerce St, downtown Ft Worth in Sundance Square.
This store is HUGE and an almost magical place to shop and gawk, believe me, I know.

Come on down between 2 and 4 the afternoon of Nov 15 and visit a bit. Remember, books make great Christmas gifts, too and if your readers like adventure, mystery, romance and intrigue, Candlewood is the place to visit. My mother has a juicy little mystery, "Sammie," for all you sleuths out there. You'll never guess the ending, trust me. She scares us a bit now...ha!

What's next in Candlewood?

Hi, everyone!

We had a wonderful time talking with all of you at the Arlington Barnes and Noble on Saturday, despite the construction issues.
I had lots of questions about book three, The Legend of the Dragon Sword. It's finished and with my editor, who is looking it over again. So hang in there with me! As soon as we get a release date, I'll let you know, believe me. (That's cartwheel day around here!)

Also big news for Candlewood: The Legend of the Dragon Sword. It won the Abilene book award for 2009! I was tickled and pleased about that. By the way, come to Abilene, Texas on September 27th at the Abilene civic center, from 9 am until 3pm. You can't get lost-lots of signs, and if I can find the place, you all can. There's lots of fun and Texas authors there with their latest books, so come on down.

The calender is still not saving, for some reason so let me give you and update of where we'll be next.
We'll be at the Lark Bookstore, Weatherford, Texas on Sep. 3d from 1 until 3. It's across from the Walmart store on Ft Worth Highway, Old 51. You can't miss it. This is a lovely, new store so we hope to see you there.
Also, Sep 27th, as I mentioned is the Abilene book fair.
Stay tuned for October and November dates. We'll take a small break in December for the holiday which will soon be upon us. Yikes!

Hello, everyone

Well, as you can see, my calender isn't up to snuff yet. Should be done by this weekend, per my web designer!

We just returned from a book signing in Arlington, Texas at the new Barnes and Noble in the Parks Mall. It is a beautiful store and worth spending some time in.
Many wonderful people came through including one young man named, "Michael," and I hope to hear from him when he reads both books!

Next up is the Hastings store in Waxahachie, Texas on July 26, from 2 until 4 pm, so come on down (or up) and see us there. The store can be seen and acessed from the highway, straight to Waxahachie and I promise, you won't get lost. (If I didn't, you won't, believe me!)

For those of you who love a good mystery, my mother and fellow author, Barbara Newton will be there with "Sammie," her first of the Dectective Brandle mysteries. If you can figure this one out, you'll be the first to do so!

Azle School readings

The dragons and I went to Silver Creek School in Azle last Thursday and we had a blast!
We talked with and read to 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade and met great kids.
Then the very next Thursday, we packed up again and read to the third and fourth grades at Eagle Heights school, also in Azle.
These kids were just as great and I (and my dragons) enjoyed our time very much.
We got many questions and some great ideas for upcoming books!
Candlewood: The Legend of the Dragon Sword is at the editors now, so cross your fingers, fans.
AND I've started to write, The Crown of Candlewood, number four of the series.
We'll be at "The Bookcase" in Weatherford on May 17 in Weatherford, on the square from 1 until 3pm. Come on down and meet us!

Greetings from Candlewood!

We got back from Denton, Texas this past Saturday and met some fans who came just to pick up book two! That always makes me glad.
This coming Saturday, my fellow author and Mom, Barbara Newton, will be doing a radio interview with Linda Bagwell. She's a great lady and heads up "Books, authors, and all that Jazz," each May. (Yup, we'll be there.)
The radio show is at 10:00 am on Weatherfords only am station, so you can't miss us.
Then we'll be at the Lark Book store in Weatherford from 1 until 3.
(Across from the Willow Park WalMart, for you locals.)
Off of Hwy 180 (old Ft Worth highway) and turn right after the movie theatre.
Then we'll be at Weatherford College on May 3, from 9 until 3pm for "Books, authors and all that Jazz." We'll all be at the arts center building on campus.
Come and see us!
Book three is at the editors. I just made a few changes about five minutes ago.
Book four has a title now:
The Crown of Candlewood.

In addition, my mom and fellow author, Barbara Newton, will be releasing her new book next week. It's a mystery called, "Sammie," and if you guess the ending, I'll eat my hat. It's a great thriller.

Well, we finished our last signing of the year at the Barnes and Noble store in Denton, Texas.
Our crowd was small, but we had quality people! Seriously, we enjoyed speaking with everyone there.

We'll be at "Career Day" at Liberty school on November 19th from ten until eleven or so.

Everything's been done for book two, the cover has been agreed on, we're ready to go so hang in there with me for "The Haunting of Candlewood!"

Candlewood in Denton, Texas

We met many really great people in Ft Worth at the Barnes and Noble on University St.
Next, on to Denton, Texas on November 10th, noon until ? for fun, games and more Candlewood! The store is in Golden Triangle Mall.

Come on down and meet Tom and I as well as fellow author, Barbara Newton.
We've picked a cover for "The Haunting of Candlewood," so we're well on our way now.
It'll be out before Christmas so if you liked the first book, ask Santa for book two!

Just got back from Abilene and the book festival there. We had a blast, as always and met many wonderful people. The crowd was smaller this year, but we had quality!

Abilene Book Festival

Tom and I met some wonderful people last Saturday at the Barnes and Noble in Arlington.
Our wonderful CR manager, Drew, was very gracious and kind, as were all the staff and we sold out of books!
Drew is ordering more, so if you didn't get yours that day, come on back, they'll be there.
Next up is the Abilene book festival on Sep. 29th, from 9am to 3pm and Candlewood will be there next to the WordWright table.
Come and meet me and my mom/partner in writing, Barbara Newton. She's got a mystery out soon, so stay tuned for that.
"The Haunting of Candlewood" really is coming soon. I hope (and am pretty sure) it'll be out before Halloween. Kind of appropriate, isn't it?

Ready for school

Hi, everyone

Is everyone ready for school? My neices and nephews have different answers to that question.
My husband is a student and he says he's not ready. My son isn't ready either, but to tell the truth, I'm ready for them to go back!
As for me, I've written something about my black lab, Rainey, and it's off with Guidepost magazine now. We'll see what happens. And I'm going to do some more visiting in Candlewood today on book three.
I'll also be getting ready for readings in schools and that's my favorite thing to do.
(Besides writing, that is.)

Hi, all

Well, book two, The Haunting of Candlewood, is still in the works BUT we should see a cover soon! Once we see that, it won't be long.
Hope you all can attend the Abilene Book and Music festival. They'll be all kinds of entertainment, workshops, music and best of all, I'll be there ready to autograph your copy of Candlewood!
The festival is at the Ablilene Civic center in Abilene, Texas. Should be a lot of fun so come on down.
The Legend of the Dragon Sword has taken some twists that made even me gasp, so stay tuned.
We're almost 28 chapters complete and book four, as yet untitled, is taking form as well.
Stay cool this summer, if you can. We here in Ft Worth are sweltering but it's NORMAL for us this time of year!

Candlewood at Scarborough Festival

We had a great time at Scarborough (Fair) Festival Sunday and made a few contacts for Candlewood, too.
Met a great puppeteer who makes dragon puppets. I have a great surprise for the school kids this fall! I can hardly wait.
Making last minute edits to "The Haunting of Candlewood," so hopefully, it won't be long now.

We won't be in Dallas after all this weekend, but we will be there in June, so stayed tuned for the time.

"Creating Candlewood" will still be at the Lakewood Library in Dallas from 1:00 to 3:00, as planned.

Just finished chapter 23 of "The Legend of the Dragon Sword," and it's going pretty quickly now, after a small "bump" of not knowing where the story was going.

It always takes care of itself so no worries!

I just got back from "Books, authors and all that jazz," in Weatherford, Texas and met some new fans there. We had a lot of fun.

I'm going to Dallas this next Saturday, to the Lakewood Library and will give a presentation called, "Creating Candlewood."

"The Legend of the Dragon Sword" is going strong with 23 chapters finished so stay tuned and keep checking the website for the release of "The Haunting of Candlewood!"

I'll be updating my calender, too, so you can come and join the fun.

Candlewood Books Updates

Part two of our story is with the publisher now so hang on for more adventures with the Candlewood kids, and thier dragons.

The Haunting of Candlewood follows our favorite characters as they grow a bit older and have even more adventures than before.

I'll let you all know when book two comes out!

In the meantime, I'm still working on "The Legend of the Dragon Sword," which is part three and to me, the very best part of the story of Candlewood.

We were at Round Rock, Texas yesterday at the Barnes and Noble store and had a ball.

Candlewood continues to fly well, reaching other countries, like England and Germany, as well!

Book two, "The Haunting of Candlewood," is on the editors desk and being re-read right now, so hopefully, the second part of our story will be out in early 2007!

I'm working on the third book, "Candlewood: The Legend of the Dragon Sword," and our characters are having even more adventures as they grow.

Princess Lacey has quite a surprise for her fans!
